Chotu was not just a dog, but more of a family member to us who has left a mark with almost all in my family. She came to our house in Bangalore in the month of December 1992. I was a kid that time . She had that innocent look in the face that my father who till that evening just was close to hating dog , became a great dog lover and Chotu entered our family as smoothly as if it was pre-fixed. Naming her was one thing which brings back sweet memories. she was all brown in colour and to name her it was a debate what would be a name to this new member .the fun part was that almost every kid there came over to our house and was all ready to name her. Two of the names finally chosen were 'Browny' and 'chotu',as she was really small and brown in colour, but somehow gues she liked the latter more than the former and so she was called chotu. I still cant forget the first day she ran all the way from the living room to pick up the pace and jump onto my parents bed. The feeling of triumph was evident on her face that day. Herplay ground was more the terrace of our house, where she used to run in a speed, am sure would put any modern day car to shame. Chotu was one dog who was lucky to travel places. Her journey started from Konenaagrahara in Bangalore .She went to Kolkata , Ranchi, Benaras and back to Kolkata .She just loved traveling. Be that our family members, or the students of my mother, or the rickshaw puller, there was absolutely no one who could escape loving her. Today she is no more with us and has left a position, which no one can take, memories which would be there till the last day, as a family member whom we all would miss all our lives. May God bless her pure soul and give her all the happiness where ever she is .May she rest in peace. Please any one visiting this site pray for her pure soul. |
